Something like that. So happy birthday to me. A 'Happy Holidays' to you.
Yeah, it's been sort of quiet here on my dA page. I'm still around, but effectively on hiatus here on deviantArt. I'm still working on things, but don't have much of anything to show for it, really. I got some nice gifts for my birthday/Christmas, though. Copic marker refills for the colors I direly needed, new soft pastels to experiment with, and three pounds of yarn for a blanket I'm working on.
I don't really have much to talk about specifically, but I'm doing well enough, I suppose. Don't hesitate to say hello or whatever; I'm still lurking around even though I haven't been actively posting stuff.
I ran into this group when someone linked to a really cool rendition of The Glitch Mob's new single Can't Kill Us
with added vocals (which worked surprisingly well, given that the majority of times people add vocals to an instrumental, it's a trainwreck). I got curious about whether or not they had other work, and came across their SoundCloud page. I listened to some more of their songs and I really like what I hear. It's kind of eclectic, so I guess keep an open mind when you check out each song.
I'm linking to a few individual songs on the SoundCloud page; I couldn't find any YouTube videos of the songs to embed, and I don't know if it's possible to embed SoundCloud on dA Journals.
• Can't Kill Us [the cover mentioned earlier]
I never would've expected people to add vocals to a Glitch Mob song, let alone have it sound good. This works really well. I actually think some of the lines are reused from another one of their songs, Atlantis
(2:10 onwards), found on their SoundCloud page.
• Face [Warning- explicit language]
This one's really fun; it reminds me of a few songs by Frenzal Rhomb.
I love the chorus in this- the part about the birds.
• Pythagorean Mind Pop
This is fun to jam to.
